Colors of the Autumn by *WiciaQ
You can’t have Hallowe’en without autumn. The colour of the fallen leaves, the crispness in the air, it’s all part of the anticipation of Hallowe’en for me, so I thought I would share some autumnal images courtesy of DeviantArt.

A brief departure from my Hallowe’en inspired postings; while on one of my regular hauntings of DeviantArt, I came across some pretty Disney inspired art by Elf-in-mirror.
I do enjoy Disney films, and I do find it interesting seeing different twists on the characters, particularly when the art gives a more adult characterisation.
Considering the number of Beauty and the Beast inspired images of Belle, it’s safe to say that this character is Elf-in-mirror’s favourite to digitally realise, and I can understand why. I really like the gothic twists. You can’t go wrong with a good corset,
I’ll be checking back often for new paintings!
Thanks to a friend very thoughtfully posting a picture of this postcard on my Facebook page, I now have a lovely 10 pack of these Hallowe’en witch and black cat postcards right next to me as I type this.
They’re created by Jess Purser and sold on her Etsy store, Castle on the Hill, along with lots of other fabulous witchy themed postcards, cleverly painted on pages of literature.
These paintings are wonderfully quirky and unique, and I was really impressed with the quality of the postcards.
I definitely need to add to my new collection!
Do check out her Etsy store for other lovely postcards inspired by Alice in Wonderland, Jane Austen and 1950s France, or contact Jess to discuss a custom order!
The fantasy art of Molly Harrison is quite a new discovery for me, and a very exciting one, at that. Lots of boxes are being ticked, but since I’m in Hallowe’en mode at the moment, I shall stick to her Hallowe’en witches.
Her witches are wonderfully colourful, always with a trusty cat familiar.
There’s something about the eyes in her subjects, they really draw you into the image. Bewitching, you might say! :p
I hope Molly will create a book of her art. I would love to be add her images to my collection of art books.
This is what I love about Hallowe’en. It’s a beautiful time of year. The colours of Autumn are amazing and I love seeing all the things I love about the season reflected in beautiful pieces of fantasy and gothic art.
Molly has an extensive Zazzle Store where you can purchase merchandise featuring her art.
