Fantasy Brides

Back in the early wedding planning days, I regularly haunted several gothic/fantasy bridal websites and lusted after the myriad gorgeous gowns.

One of those websites was the amazing Uptight Clothing.

The company was formed by Janice Whitehorn who has a background in theatrical costumes and specialises in corseted gowns sure to make any woman feel fabulous in her shape.

I love the dramatic and theatrical look of her creations. The fabrics and colours are so beautiful and arresting.

All Janice’s creations are handmade to order so you will be sure of a very personal service, just what you want for the most important dress of your life!

If you’re looking for something a bit more ethereal or Celtic, then Rivendell Bridal will be right up your street. They make beautiful gowns that are inspired by fantasy, the medieval period and Celtic influences.

Think Lord of the Rings and you get the idea! All dresses are handmade by Emily Jane and can be customised and adapted for you and are sure to make you feel special on your special day.

From personal experience, I can’t recommend the wonderful people at The Dark Angel for fantasy, gothic and medieval inspired gowns. Their products are great quality and very reasonably priced too so are ideal for a bride on a budget.

They offer a really friendly and personal service which meant an awful lot to me when I was arranging the dresses for my bridesmaids and their designs and colours are simply stunning.

Just imagine the gasps from guests seeing you in any of this amazing attire!

Wedding featured on Hitched!

I got an e-mail from the lovely Fran at Hitched to let me know that our wedding had been featured in their real weddings section!

We got a lovely write up and it was nice to see our suppliers getting the mention they deserve for their amazing contribution to our special day.

It was really fun filling out the questionnaire for the feature and it was a good excuse to relive the day!

I’ve also been sating my wedding planning need with a few little projects. I was asked to locate some venues for a friend of a friend and I really enjoyed being back in wedding mode. It was really gratifying to hear that the friend liked the venues I had picked out and had already booked appointments for a couple!
